WHY ASTROLOGY MATTERS

While popular astrology has certainly contributed to relegating astrology to the realm of pseudo-science or worse still to frivolous fortune-telling and entertainment, it has nonetheless served as an initial portal into real astrology especially for those who are motivated by a desire to seek the truth in all knowledge. Anyone who then probes into the conceptual depths and profound practice of real astrology, will discover that there is immense logic and structure to this divine universal script of the skies.
This talk deals with how the language of astrology may assist us in better negotiating everyday life through a more insightful understanding of our own selves and of our potential strengths and weaknesses in behavioural interactions.

A series of three workshops on Astrology is being conducted at Hast-o-Neest from October to November 2013 insha'llah.

Dr. Tehnyat Majeed holds a doctorate in Islamic Art and Archaeology from the University of Oxford. During her studies abroad, she was initiated into the art of astrological interpretation by a French astrologer and practitioner of the mystical tradition of the kabbalah. In addition, she received part of her formal training in astrology at the Faculty of Astrological Studies in London. She is currently Adjunct Faculty, History of Islamic Art, Museum Studies at Beaconhouse National University
