His complete works, Kulliaat, consist of six Diwans containing 13,585 couplets, comprising all kinds of poetic forms. His masnavi Mu'amlat-e-Ishq (The Stages of Love) is one of the greatest known love poems in Urdu literature.

Born in Agra, Mir's philosophy of life was formed primarily by his father, a religious man with a large following, whose emphasis on the importance of love and the value of compassion remained with Mir throughout his life and imbued his poetry. 

One of the principal poets of the Delhi School of the Urdu ghazal Mir lived much of his life in Mughal Delhi, Kuchha Chelan, in Old Delhi. In 1748, he eventually moved to the court of Asaf-ud-Daulah in Lucknow.

Azma Salman's area of specialization is "Tezhib" or Illumination - an art form used to ornament the holy verses of the Quran - for which she received training from three present day Turkish masters e.i Ayten Tiryaki, Emel Turkman and Nilofer Kurfeyz.  She holds a Masters of Arts in Visual Islamic and Traditional Art from the Princes School of Traditional Arts, London and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the National College of Arts.

Currently she is the only illuminator in Pakistan who has a formal degree in this area of Islamic Art. She lives and works in Lahore.

Born in Agra, Mirza Ghalib's first language was Urdu. He received formal education in Persian and Arabic;Turkish and Persian were spoken at home. 

He began composing verses at the early age of 10 or 12, and had written many of his best known ghazals by the time he was 19. A great poet of the Mughal Era, he is considered to be one of the most popular and influential poets of the Urdu language.
