Sacred Calligraphy
Irfan Ahmed Qureshi

A six month minimum foundational course of calligraphy based on the principles, language and styles developed by Master Calligraphers of Baghdad (9th/10th Century) on Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and a once-a-week Sundays only option with Irfan Ahmed Qureshi (Ijaza from a Master Calligrapher, & NCA diploma holder in Traditional Arts )
4:00 - 6:00 pm.

Illumination Tezhib
 Irfan Ahmed Qureshi

A six month minimum foundational course of the Turkish style of Tezhib/Illumination on Tuesdays, Thursdays and and a once-a-week Sundays only option with Irfan Ahmed Qureshi. 
4:00 - 6:00 pm.

Illustration/Miniature
Fyza Fayyaz

A three month minimum foundational course of the Mughal technique of illustration and painting on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with Fyza Fayyaz (NCA graduate in Fine Arts & Miniature under Ustad Bashir Ahmed)
4:00 to 6:00 pm

Bookbinding

A foundational workshop on this ancient art form will be announced for
December 2015/January 2016.

Registration 
Walk in and meet the teacher on any relevant day and time.
No previous drawing skills, or art degrees are required for any of the above courses.
We encourage all age groups to enroll in the courses.

Dr. Martin Lings (1909-2005) Shaykh Abu Bakr Siraj ad-Din, an English writer and scholar who is the author of the biography titled Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest Sources. Published in twelve languages, this book has received numerous awards - the Islamic Quarterly called it “an enthralling story that combines impeccable scholarship with a rare sense of the sacred worthy of the subject”.

Dr. Reza Shah-Kazemi studied International Relations and Politics at Sussex and Exeter Universities before obtaining his PhD in Comparative Religion from the University of Kent in 1994. He has authored several works, including most recently The Spirit of Tolerance in Islam (2012);  Spiritual Quest: Reflections on Qur’anic Prayer according to the teachings of Imam ‘Ali  (2011). Dr Shah-Kazemi is at present a Research Fellow with the Department of Academic Research and Publications at the Institute of Ismaili Studies.
