Sunday 27th March: Classical Calligraphy Exhibition in Islamabad

This weekend there is no Sunday Lecture at Hast-o-Neest (which remains closed this Sunday) as we are hosting a classical calligraphy exhibition in Islamabad in an International Seminar on Sirah Writing.

Rationale of the Seminar:
…the accumulation of writings on the Prophet (peace be upon him) in different languages is massive, rich and variegated. The modern period (circa 1800 onwards), in terms of writings on the Prophet, has been spectacularly productive. By carefully analyzing the different attitudes, trends, methodologies and contents of these writings an effort will be made to undertake a holistic evaluation of this period and to explore new vistas for future studies on Sirah.

Brown, Georgetown University, Washington DC., USA, and Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Iqbal, President Centre for Islam and Science, Canada.

Hast-o-Neest Centre for Traditional Art & Culture, Lahore  in collaboration with IRI is holding a classical calligraphy exhibition for this seminar.
