Dr. Martin Lings (1909-2005) Shaykh Abu Bakr
Siraj ad-Din, an English writer and scholar who is the author of the
biography titled Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest Sources. Published in twelve languages, this book has received numerous awards - the Islamic Quarterly called it “an enthralling story that combines
impeccable scholarship with a rare sense of the sacred worthy of the subject”.
Dr. Reza Shah-Kazemi
studied International Relations and Politics at Sussex and Exeter Universities
before obtaining his PhD in Comparative Religion from the University of Kent in
1994. He has authored several works, including most recently The Spirit of Tolerance
in Islam (2012); Spiritual Quest: Reflections on Qur’anic Prayer
according to the teachings of Imam ‘Ali (2011). Dr Shah-Kazemi is at
present a Research Fellow with the Department of Academic Research and
Publications at the Institute of Ismaili Studies.
