"Three day seminar on Islamic Civilization and Cultures is designed to cover the various aspects of a single question: Does there exist an Islamic Civilization? The problem may be formulated as that of 'the relation between Islamic Civilization and the local cultures of the areas to which Islam traveled'.This seminar will commence with a consideration to the methodology for the study of Islamic Civilization then we will explore the unity and variety of major cultural expressions of Islam within a  traditional framework.'

Dr Amjad Waheed is Assistant Professor in Department of Islamic Thought and Civilization at University of Management & Technology Lahore. He is editor of the Journal of Islamic Thought and Civilization and reviewer of the Journal of European Studies. He is also a member of the National Curriculum Review Committee (NCRC) of

HEC for Islamic Studies. He worked for the promotion of the discipline of Islamic Studies in private sector Universities of Pakistan and designed and taught Ph.D and M.phil courses including Islamic Civilization and Cultures, Comparative Study of Civilizations, Islamic Thought and Civilization and Western Thought and Civilization.
