Maqamat of Qira'at e Quran
A unique opportunity to learn the Maqamat 
- Arabic Musical Scales of Quranic Recitation

A one year course for children and teenagers (10 to 18 years old)
 on the traditional Arab method of beautiful recitation - maqamat 
taught by Qari Khalid Uthman Alvi Al-Azhari (Egypt/Pakistan)
(Voice quality and hifz of some Surahs-Ayat of the Quran - minimum last 10 surahs of the Quran - is a prerequisite)
The human voice is an important instrument. 
In Egypt, the maqamat essentially describe the various patterns of melody that various qurra use in their recitation. This adds to the beauty of proper articulation and proper rhythm that one learns from studying the science of Quranic recitation, tajweed.

The Maqamat are 7 in their roots or foundations. Each Maqam is said to be a street or a way.
